Is this a authentic certified apple mfi product? and how does one actually know claims to this affect are genuine? run into false claims times before

The box of the product actually says: "Made for iPod, "Made for iPhone" and "Made for iPad" mean that an electronic accessory has been designed to connect specifically iPod, iPhone or iPad, respectively, and has been certified by the developer to meet Apple performance standards. 
And you can confirm this is a genuinely certified MFi cable by going to the Apple check page at: 
https://mfi.apple.com/MFiWeb/getAPS 
Select  "Model" and enter the model number. Or select"Brand" and enter the "K123 Keytech", You can see the certified product models from there.
